Poblano's Mexican Restaurant

First time I’ve been back there since the pandemic started. The staff was friendly, You were seated promptly. We got there at 2:45 in the afternoon and were able to get the lunch specials. When they brought out the chips they also brought out two containers of salsa since there were two of us. The food was good and the margarita was good also

I used to love this place, back when I really didn't care too much about my diet. Now that I've made changes to my eating habits and lifestyle, I can't say that I enjoy this place the way I used to, anymore. The atmosphere is wonderful. Very colorful and vibrant. Spacious indeed! The service was also fantastic. I wish I remembered the name of the server that helped us. But she was phenomenal! It's the food that is the problem. The portions are great! However, you can taste the butter in every bite. I got a vegetarian burrito. No seasoning. Just butter and heat lol my spouse and myself felt terrible after our meal. Usually after a veggie dish you feel full, but light. That was not the case here. My spouse actually had a stomach ache for the rest of the night. Not ok. Also, the drinks are tasty, but they're WEAK. I ordered a Frozen margarita. I had to tell my server to add an extra shot so I can taste the liquor. Not ok. But if you want something inexpensive with little to no sustenance, this place isn't too bad.

Walking into this place, I loved the decor s as well as the size of the bar. Where i always sit. Got chips and salsa just after I sat down. The menu selection here is quite large and was quite tough for me to make a selection. They serve Mocajetes but I decided to go with a plate called ‘El Amigo’ It was a friend indeed. It comes with four different meats including Aracherra. Este carne is not meant to be a tender cut but more for its spices and texture of a thin, well done cut. They nailed it here. Chicken, shrimp and chorizo rounds out this plate to make a really good dinner. Rice was pretty good as well as the beans. We’ll be back for sure! And i came back,lol. This time tried the Arros con mariscos A plate with a bed of rice and shrimps with scallops, both pan fried i suspect. Didn’t know what to expect, it was really good. Cheesy for sure, good rice with Spanish rice flavor. The salad comes on the plate, pretty plain, but no problem. The scallops were cooked very nicely, not the grilled crispness i really want, but nice and tender. Shrimp tender in inside, nice snap on the outside. Thursday is $5 Margarita night, glad i got an Uber, the Texas margaritas are per good at that price. 2nd edit, that tres leches postre! Should be illegal, gonna burn for eating that one.

I'll be honest lol... My daughters corn dog was the best item I tasted... We ordered guacamole and had it customed up with Pico de gayo and fresh jalapeno.. chile relleno which was good with the chicken, but barely any chicken was in it but I'll say the sauce was absolutely right on point!!! Need that on other menu items.... The overpriced pitcher of margarita was ok at best ( Cadillac )... We won't be back no matter what, plenty of other much better options very close by
